architecture + design
The Watch House is a contemporary coastal home overlooking Perranporth beach, designed to achieve a low visual and environmental impact within a sensitive landscape. Conceived as a net-zero family house, the project carefully responds to its exposed seaside setting while embedding sustainable design principles. The architecture integrates with the site through its form, orientation, and material choices, creating sheltered external spaces and maximising views of the coastline. Emphasising energy efficiency and environmental performance, the house balances modern living with ecological responsibility, resulting in a discreet yet innovative home that sits harmoniously within its rugged Cornish context.
