Smugglers Cottage comprises of the complete overhaul and extension to a detached mining cottage overlooking Trevaunance Cove on the North Cornwall Coast. New kitchen, living and dining spaces are created in a contemporary double height extension taking advantage of uninterrupted views down the coastline. Formed with three parallel stone walls which abut the back of the existing cottage, a generous entrance hall separates the new volume from the sleeping spaces contained within the original building. A simple but robust palette of Cornish stone walls, exposed joists, oak beams and York stone floors tie the spaces together.
