The project introduces a contemporary four-bedroom family home to a sensitive hillside site above a historic Cornish village within a designated Conservation Area. Designed with minimal visual impact, the low, linear form follows the natural contours of the landscape, helping it sit discreetly within its surroundings. Traditional materials such as stone walls and a locally sourced slate roof allow the building to blend into the hillside, while concealed glazing admits natural light without disturbing views from the village. High sustainability standards, including Passivhaus-level performance, are integrated alongside ecological enhancements, creating a home that balances modern living, heritage context, and environmental sensitivity.
